The Story +

Grown in the cool highlands of Da Lat, this short-grain rice has the low amylose content that gives sushi rice its signature stickiness — perfect for shaping into rolls, nigiri, and onigiri.

Cooking Guide +

1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

2. Soak the rinsed rice in cold water for about 30 minutes.

3. Drain the soaked rice and transfer it to the inner pot of a rice cooker.

4. Add water (usually a 1:1.25 ratio with rice) to the rice cooker.

5. Start the rice cooker and cook until done.

6. Once switched to "keep warm" mode, let the rice sit for an additional 10 minutes.

7. Season the cooked rice with sushi vinegar and mix gently.

I am an Asian and have tried several rice products and this was the worst so far. It's closer to Italian dessert rice rather than sushi rice. A bit too dry for me.

One of the worst tasting "Japanese" rice.

Great value rice for the price paid. Works out to be a fraction the price of supermarket equivalents, that are often hard to find.

This rice is very hard to measure the right amount of water when you cook it in a rice cooker. When you use 1:1 ratio, it comes out too wet. I needed to try over and over again to get the right measurement for this brand. Also, the rice seems to be a bit dirty, it has some black stuff or residue when you wash them. I would not recommend to buy this brand.

Good for everyday rice. Can be eaten by chopsticks easily. And good price.
